Ask Web Guru celebrate our first year in business!

This is a landmark we were obviously very keen to reach with so many new start-ups coming and going in the first year of trading. We entered our first year in business with hope and with optimism however, we are down to earth people and know that nothing is a given. We knew we not only had to work very hard but take the rough with the smooth. One key piece of advice we would offer any new start-up is don’t get too down when things are tough and don’t get too high when things are going well for you. We feel this is something we can personally managed quite well and it certainly will help others reading our blog thinking of starting up a business of your own.

As I have over 15 years’ industry experience working within many award winning digital agencies I was always confident of reaching this landmark but, to get here and look back at our success in year one has simply blown me away. We are a company that prides itself on balancing better than most both affordability and quality whilst always offering a better service after sale than pre-sale. Our team literally treat our clients investment like it is our own which really helps drive us to do the very best we can for our clients regardless of size or budget. This way of working has helped us win over 50 new clients in our first year or trading, generated over 30 five star Google reviews and have not lost one single client so far. Something we aim to continue throughout year two.

Our client base is very diverse, with accounts covering all trades, engineering, law, recruitment, hospitality, entertainment and more. We are now planning on reinvesting both within our infrastructure and building our team. The plan is to hire two apprentices in year two as we believe in giving opportunities to young, passionate professionals who wish to help our digital agency and most importantly our clients achieve future success. Not only this but, we are currently implementing a new CRM system which will help us manage accounts and projects internally giving our clients and team members an improved experience and improved processes. At no point will we believe we are perfect, we will always be looking at ways in which we can improve for the best interest of ourselves and our valued clients.

During our first year of trading we have become proud members of the Federation of Small Businesses and BNI which is helping us not only grow our network but build our reputation within the local area. 90% of our work comes from word of mouth and referral partners which shows us that we are doing right by our clients and everyone connected to Ask Web Guru.

Throughout year one we have only ever given potential clients good, honest, sound advice. It is very important to stick to our principles and not just tell a potential client something they want to hear for the sake of a sale. We believe that sticking to our principles will only help us grow further in the future.

Emma and I would like to put on record our appreciation for everyone’s support as we simply could not have done this on our own. To all our valued clients, potential clients, support networks, referral partners, digital partners, family and friends we want to say a big thank you for your support and we will continue to work as hard as we possibly can to bring our customers and our digital agency future success and stability. All the very best to you all.
